More than 2 million children live in Kyrgyzstan, more than 29 000 of them are children with disability. They are one of the most vulnerable categories of children. Every day they face stigma, often do not leave home and do not have access to education, medical and social services.
December 12, 2014 in the city of Shopokov was opened the first house of the family type for children with disabilities. This is a home for eight children, where they live harmoniously together in a “family” environment and are under constant care and protection trained staff. Children at home have different diagnoses, such as
Mental retardation, Down’s syndrome, cerebral palsy.
